The last Friday of term the food challenge was avocado. There was a mixed response but everyone had a try!
Thank you to all those who supported us at our recent Easter coffee morning where we raised the fantastic amount of £1256.50 for our school funds.
As part of Mrs Rogers “food from around the world”, today Mrs Rogers produced a Lithuanian meal. Mrs Rogers was born in Lithuania and lived there for many years and so was able to tell the children about life there.
They also learned how to say Hello – Labas and Goodbye – Sudie.
This weeks new food to tempt the children with was mangetout. It went down well with most of them and the staff too!
The children have been involved in planting some trees on our school playing area. The trees were supplied by Northumberland County Council as part of the Queens Platinum celebrations. Mrs Ward kindly helped with the planting and all the children took part.
Today the new food to try was a cornichon, where the result was more thumbs down than up!
This week the new food to try was dried apricots. It seemed to be half and half this week of whether they liked them or not.
Today for our Friday food challenge the children tried stilton cheese and surprisingly a lot of them liked it!
Today the new food to sample was an artichoke. There were not many thumbs up today, but they all had a try.
