Burns Lunch

31st January 2022Mrs S Rogerson

Mrs Rogers prepared a wonderful Burns lunch for us on the 25th January and the children learnt a little about the life and work of Robert Burns, a famous poet who is known all over the world.  The children all tried the haggis, neeps and tatties, Mrs Packer recited the Selkirk Grace and they all sang Auld Lang Syne.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations

17th January 2022Mrs S Rogerson

14 January 2022

Dear Parent / Carer

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

This year the Queen is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee and to recognise and celebrate this the Government has announced that there will be an additional

bank holiday. The late May bank holiday will be moved to Thursday 2 June

2022 and an additional Jubilee bank holiday will be on Friday 3 June 2022.

As the additional bank holiday falls within the half term holiday, legislation has been passed to allow schools to benefit from an additional day’s holiday. Our Trust has, in liaison with the schools of the Morpeth Partnership, decided to take this additional day at the end of the summer term.

Therefore, I am writing to inform you that the last day of the summer term for all our Trust schools: The King Edward VI School, Chantry, Dr Thomlinson and Newminster Middle Schools, Abbeyfields, Harbottle, Stobhillgate and Thropton First Schools will be Thursday 21 July with the summer holiday beginning on Friday 22 July.

Yours sincerely

Simon Taylor

CEO

Children in Need 2021

19th November 2021Mrs S Rogerson

Today was Children in Need day and the children came in non school uniform and some were in Pudsey bear outfits.  The children had a lovely morning doing activities from the Children in Need pack and Mrs Buckley talked to them about the meaning of the day.   A great time was had by all and we raised £71.80 for the appeal.
