This week the new food for the children to try was papaya, which was enjoyed by quite a lot of them.

Dear Parent / Carer
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022
This year the Queen is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee and to recognise and celebrate this the Government has announced that there will be an additional
bank holiday. The late May bank holiday will be moved to Thursday 2 June
2022 and an additional Jubilee bank holiday will be on Friday 3 June 2022.
As the additional bank holiday falls within the half term holiday, legislation has been passed to allow schools to benefit from an additional day’s holiday. Our Trust has, in liaison with the schools of the Morpeth Partnership, decided to take this additional day at the end of the summer term.
Therefore, I am writing to inform you that the last day of the summer term for all our Trust schools: The King Edward VI School, Chantry, Dr Thomlinson and Newminster Middle Schools, Abbeyfields, Harbottle, Stobhillgate and Thropton First Schools will be Thursday 21 July with the summer holiday beginning on Friday 22 July.
Yours sincerely
Simon Taylor
CEO

What a week we have had, nativity play, making Christmas crafts, Christmas lunch, a party and a Christmas jumper day!
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Today the new food to try was cottage cheese. Everyone gave it a go but it wasn’t too popular!
Today the challenge was to try some smoked mackerel which a lot of the children liked.
Today was Children in Need day and the children came in non school uniform and some were in Pudsey bear outfits. The children had a lovely morning doing activities from the Children in Need pack and Mrs Buckley talked to them about the meaning of the day. A great time was had by all and we raised £71.80 for the appeal.
Today the new food challenge was okra. It didn’t go down very well with only a few saying they really liked it but they all gave it a go!
