On Tuesday 10th October the children celebrated Takayama Autumn Festival
This famous Takayama Autumn Festival revolves around the Sakurayama Hachinmangu shrine.
This matsuri is highlighted by large floats called mikoshi that are lifted over the shoulders of those carrying them, and paraded through the streets during the day as well as in the evening.
Mrs Rogers cooked the following wonderful meal –
Tonkatsu
とんかつ
(Chicken with caramelised carrots)
Served with rice
ご飯と一緒に
Banana Sushi

Served with ice cream

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our recent quiz night where we raised £73.
We are going to purchase some new cookery equipment with the money.
There will be a quiz night in aid of Harbottle School on Thursday 28th September at 8.00pm held in the Star Inn.

Once a year, Berlin’s world famous sights and monuments in the city centre become the canvas for spectacular light and video projections during the Festival of Lights and takes place in September to October in Berlin, Germany.
Today in celebration of this Mrs Rogers produced a German based meal of Bratwurst Sausages, potatoes and red cabbage followed by Streuselkucgen.
The children also learned some fun facts about Germany.
Our first food challenge of the Autumn term was blackberries. Most of the children really enjoyed them and learnt some interesting facts about them.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Summer 23 raffle where we raised £1330 for school funds. Also we would like to thank those who donated very generous gifts as prizes.
We have children from Nursery to Year 4 and currently have spaces.
Children travel to us from Rothbury and Elsdon on school transport.

Part of the day was a sponsored walk, walking the path that the children used to and we raised the amazing sum of £554.00
